KANPUR: The house of Kanpur Municipal Corporation (KMC) saw a better attendance on Saturday. After a strict reminder from the mayor, Ravindra Patni, corporators and senior bureaucrats were seen in full attendance.
The house saw some positive work as ward related development issues were discussed. A corporator from BSP spoke about the negligence of hand-pumps and poor water supply in his area.

While eunuch corporator, Kajal Kiran raised the issue of street-lights, another corporator from BSP said that nobody is taking care about the statue of Bhim Rao Ambedkar in his ward. The most elderly corporator, Sarala asked mayor to allocate a daily conveyance allowance of Rs 500 for the corporators.
Madan Lal Bhatia, senior corporator from the Congress asked that why model code of conduct is enforced only on leaders and not on those businessmen who use it for commercial purposes. He was talking of the issue of walls which after being white-washed by KMC were allowed to be used for commercial purposes.
Congress corporators, Izharul Hasan and Kamal Shukla Baby distributed sweets in the house to celebrate both their being elected to executive council of house and the formation of UPA government at the Centre.
